Art League of Ocean City to sell bowls online for local homeless shelter

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Art League of Ocean City is raising money for the local homeless shelter Diakonia Inc. through their Empty Bowl Project, but they need your help.

According to the Art League of Ocean City Executive Director Rina Thaler, the Empty Bowl Project offers people a chance to make or buy a bowl. Today was the last day for people to make their own bowl, but starting November 8th the art league will be selling over one hundred bowls created by artists online.

Each bowl costs 25 dollars.

The art league says this was all made possible despite the pandemic.

“Although things may be different this year, that we are committed to supporting social causes through art-making,” said Thaler.
